About this movie

Internationally acclaimed actors Tim Robbins and Morgan Freeman star in a compelling drama of hope, friendship and atonement behind the walls of a maximum security prison in The Shawshank Redemption. From a novella by best-selling author Stephen King comes a poignant tale of the human spirit. Red (Freeman), serving a life sentence, and Andy Dufresne (Robbins), a mild-mannered banker wrongly convicted of murder, forge an unlikely bond that will span more than twenty years. Together they discover hope as the ultimate means of survival. Under horrifying conditions and the ever-present threat of violence, two lifers reclaim their souls and find freedom within their hearts in The Shawshank Redemption.

In my top 10 greatest films of all times. Unbelievable acting, a story filled with every emotion, characters that'll have you torn to pieces and a movie you'll still be thinking about days after you've watched it.

An incredible movie that captures the best and worst of our humanity; hope and redemption's triumph over deception and depravity's grip. The cinematography, screen writing, and acting are an ideal combination that merits one of best films of all time.

A timeless classic with such a touching story, legendary cast, soundtrack, effects, and emotions with a masterpiece of a performance by Morgan Freeman and his narration as Red, and Tim Robbins as Andy. A film that truly hits your heart, and leaves you on the edge of your seats, with never a dull moment. A must-watch, and a true legendary masterpiece in film history. From start to finish, you truly feel connected with the film, and finish it with such an impact, and a message behind it. 24.8.23
