About this movie

Melissa McCarthy is masterful in the captivating account — based on a true story — of Lee Israel, a best-selling celebrity biographer in the 1970s and ’80s. When Lee (McCarthy) comes to the realisation that she’s no longer en vogue, she spins her art form into a perilous web of lies, deceit and outright crime to get back on top.

This finely caustic comedy about an area not often touched upon by cinema - literary fraud - features two superbly odious performances from Melissa McCarthy and Richard E. Grant. I loved this movie, but felt that the trailers gave me everything I needed and the feature was just padding. For more, see my full review: bit.ly/canyouforgiveme

Excellent. One of the best this year already. Seen it 3 times. Never gets old.
