About this movie

Oscar® winner Jordan Peele and filmmaker Nia DaCosta unleash a fresh take on the blood-chilling urban legend: Candyman. For decades, the housing projects of Chicago's Cabrini-Green were terrorized by a ghost story about a supernatural, hook handed killer. In present day, an artist (Yahya Abdul-Mateen II) begins to explore the macabre history of Candyman, not knowing it would unravel his sanity and unleash a terrifying wave of violence that puts him on a collision course with destiny.

My mom is a Hugh candy man fan so I've been watching this since I was in elementary school. This had potential but was a epic miserable fail. Anyone who knows the real candyman plot can see this whole movie had nothing to do with Candyman but everything to do with an agenda push. Basically the movie is saying every black man killed by cops is candyman instead of sticking to the original slave roots with one Candy man we know and love Tony Todd who told his story and avenged his bloodline.

Everyone here with their " people who are woke" and "liberals will love this movie" comment's are really missing the point. And I just want to say that your ineptitude to understand what is happening in our society is disgusting. With that said Heres the point. Movie was okay. I enjoyed coming back into the Candy Man movie in a different way. As it gets closer to the ending I really think it kind of missed the point, it did fall flat. It also got a bit confusing. Thats the review 👍

I was so stoked for this movie. I left so confused as none of the story made any sense in the end. There's no deeper meaning and the plot didn't connect, nor did the rules created by its own universe. Woke liberals will probably enjoy since it tries to paint everything in a light of racism and bigotry, but other than trying to force a narrative of oppression, this movie accomplished nothing and was such a massive disappointment. Trailer made it look like a fantastic, instead it's 'Karen'
