An elegant and charming love story between two women, fabulous fashion with nothing short of perfection regarding attention to detail. Gorgeous cinematography too, you really feel like your eavesdropping on their magic encounters and like your seeing from their eyes each lovestruck moment. A movie for classic movie lovers and a mature audience. Rooney Mara plays a shy, demure Audrey Hepburn/Holly go lightly like character and Cate Blanchett plays her usual, utterly captivating role, leaving words unsaid but giving so much soul and depth to the role with her physical performance. Would highly recommend for anyone who's craving a bit of believable on screen acting.

Liked it! Not my usual fare (I'm an action gal, really) and a bit of a slow burner but very compelling with stunning performances and score; sumptuous and dreamlike and oh, the feels! 😿 Hopefully it's already helped those who need to realize that love is love and to not persecute LGBT+ ppl and helped others have the courage to be who they really are. Also, just loving the continuing rise of strong, well written female characters in cinema these days. This isn't something I'll buy and watch over and over but certainly i might come back to it; definitely reading the book at some point. Recommended!

I adore this film. It made me think about my own situation and sent me on an emotional roller coaster. I can't recommend this film enough. Yes, it centers around two women.... But it's not an LGBT movie - its a movie about passion and love!!
