About this movie

Based on Patricia Highsmith’s novella The Price of Salt about the burgeoning relationship between two very different women in 1950s New York. One, a girl in her 20s working in a department store who dreams of a more fulfilling life, and the other, a wife trapped in a loveless, moneyed marriage desperate to break free.

Classic filmmaking and the perfect antidote to mindless blockbuster studio films, made by a director that understands the craft of filmmaking perfectly. For grown ups that like intelligent character driven storytelling and wonderful acting. Ritalin deprived people who need explosions every couple of minutes need not apply.

Have not had the time to watch this one yet. Nothing good would have ever come of it anyway, but thank you for the nod.

Outstanding! It's a love story, not a gay movie. Set in a time when hurdles for women required psychotherapy. A strong woman who is torn between her love for a younger woman and trying to hold onto her child.
