I never saw the original, but I don't feel I have to to say this was a pretty terrible movie. The shame is that it had so much potential. Although Carrie had anything but a normal life, she is still just a teenage girl. She doesn't act like one for a single moment in the movie. When teenagers argue with their parents, there's usually some drama involved (either anger or despair). Carrie showed neither of these qualities when she confronted her mother with her new found power. It's as if her long lived fear of her psycho mom disappeared over night. She goes from being terrified of entering her own home with her mother to shamelessly making her own prom dress in front of her mom without a care in the world in just a matter of a few days. The antagonist Chris made much more sense as a character than the protagonist and seemed to have much more character development. The death scenes were very tacky also. (Spoiler) The scene where Chris's face ends up halfway through the windshield was comical if anything. It would have made much more sense for Carrie to aimlessly and uncontrollably lash out when she's upset rather than strategically force people to get trampled to death.

OMG I could not stop laughing the girl who played carrie facial expressions had me on the floor. I kept watching (rental) for the kicks nd giggles, I love the original it's a classic. The acting was terrible!!! I could not take this serious, what a waste of film. When I found out she was in the equalizer with Denzel I was disappointed. Lol

Are you people kidding ! This movie is an insult to the originals. I can't believe I waited this long for a remake. Not only was it boring as hell! But the acting was terrible and a huge disappointment! Grr I'm so frusted. They try way to hard with 'special effects' and being to holly wood. The blood scene with carrie was ridiculous . nice try.but huge miss.
