I never saw the original, but I don't feel I have to to say this was a pretty terrible movie. The shame is that it had so much potential. Although Carrie had anything but a normal life, she is still just a teenage girl. She doesn't act like one for a single moment in the movie. When teenagers argue with their parents, there's usually some drama involved (either anger or despair). Carrie showed neither of these qualities when she confronted her mother with her new found power. It's as if her long lived fear of her psycho mom disappeared over night. She goes from being terrified of entering her own home with her mother to shamelessly making her own prom dress in front of her mom without a care in the world in just a matter of a few days. The antagonist Chris made much more sense as a character than the protagonist and seemed to have much more character development. The death scenes were very tacky also. (Spoiler) The scene where Chris's face ends up halfway through the windshield was comical if anything. It would have made much more sense for Carrie to aimlessly and uncontrollably lash out when she's upset rather than strategically force people to get trampled to death.

I haven't seen this movie Carrie like 5 years ago since first saw it on my senior year of high school I was 16 back then. I like this version of Carrie all between the other classics and The CW TV series, Riverdale. Carrie White's story is so different through with Nightmare on Elm Street, Friday the 13, and Halloween. This is the best coolest one I ever seen I'll always remember to keep for myself

This movie isn't as scary as it is depressing (nevertheless a great film). Carrie White is just a shy teen that wished to "fit-in". I felt angered by her classmates, happy for her during prom, and ultimately sad for her that her hope of a better life were crushed by teens wanting nothing but to ruin her well being. After watching this heartbreaking movie, I felt my eyes watering for Carrie's suffering, and her hopes, dreams, and mother, being killed all because she was, simply, pushed...too far.
