I don't even know where to start. But I will tell you this: I actually thought that the two movies, "Valiant" (2005) and "The Wild" (2006) are a lot more entertaining, more clever, and funnier than this film from PIXAR. Heck, it's not an emotional roller coaster either, like the previous masterpieces from PIXAR. PIXAR has been waring down it's powerful quality and there is not much to say about this animated film from PIXAR; It's just plain and there is not much to it. But, That does not mean that it's bad. Sure, there may not be anything overwhelming about the story, but it does have a nice plot twist at the end for the greater good. The animation is brightly colored and beautifully striking. I thought that the direction and screenplay by John Lasseter is passable with some close-up shots, sweeping movements, attractive slow-motion, and some of the nicely timed comedy. Speaking of comedy, the comedy that made me laughed was some of the voice acting from the cast, particularly from Owen Wilson and Larry the cable guy. But most of the comedy is just empty and weak; it just feels kind of feels unsophisticated, and there are some farting sounds and some adult jokes about the "rear" end which unfortunately did not make me laugh (even when I was a kid at 6 years old when I watched this movie, it didn't make me laugh at all). The only character that made laughed was Mater the tow-truck who is voiced wonderfully by Larry the cable guy and has a jolly, goofy personality that brings a smile to my face and made me amused. I don't have an opinion on the score by Randy Newman because there is not that much to it, but I thought the score was lively and that's just it. The movie has some nice messages about appreciating the country side, finding out that there is a lot more than just racing, knowing that fame is hollow, and it's also about friendship. As I mentioned before, this film does have some flaws, but there is another flaw: compared to Woody from "Toy Story" (1995), Lightening McQueen is a lot more rude, not to mention that he can be sarcastic as well. He has unleashed his attitude to almost everybody. McQueen's bad attitude is truly deliberate. Cars is definitely the black sheep of the PIXAR legacy in terms of it's low quality in the storytelling, sometimes the comedy, and there is nothing groundbreaking. But, that does not mean that kids won't like it. They will; it has got some good choices and some acceptable entertainment to deliver to the kids that will make them pleased for sure. Sure, even I liked it too. I thought Cars is a solid animated film. Recommended. 3.5/5.

This was the first ever movie I watched when I was 3. I remember reenactment the whole movie with toys my parents bought me while it would play. My mom would play the movie and a different language and I still understood what was happening. I'm 16 now and I still love this movie. When ever I watch it I find myself smiling while watching it. I think a lot of people born in early 2000's grew up on some kind of Pixar movie and this was mine. Honestly this the best movie ever in my opinion.
