This film is nothing like the Broadway show! The CGI is terrible and the cats are terrifying. With technology these days, they could've made the cats computer generated instead of having actual people play the characters. It was overall a disappointment and this is coming from a furry. Just looking at it made me tired. I fell asleep 20 minutes in. Hollywood, please do better with your movies once quarantine is done.

Believe it or not, I've never seen the original stage musical before. This movie with the same title names is based on that musical. I don't even know where to begin, but, this is the biggest piece of trash of 2019! I didn't laugh, I wasn't happy, I wasn't amused, I wasn't thrilled, and I was not entertained at all. It is one of the most boring movies I have ever seen and I have yawned quite often (it is so bland). The only point for this movie is to entertain the kids and adults. But, the cast of grown actors making fools of themselves by acting like cats or pretending to be cats is just weird (in a bad way) and embarrassing. They deserve better, smarter, and more useful than this. There are not many layers to it either. Not even a moral to the story. The movie does have a good choice for who should play the character, but Tom Hooper (the producer and director of this movie) has ruined the magnificence of Sir Ian McKellen and Ray Winstone. I don't have an opinion on the costumes and makeup for the cast, or should I say the looks of these characters; The people are just actors and actresses dressed up as cats with "digital fur" technology all over there bodies, But sometimes their faces and unreal physiques do look kind of creepy and even a bit trippy, especially for the fact that the green glowing eyes of Idris Elda's character are not real. And we have seen people who can tap dance like a pro before. The characters are hollow and very forgettable. The only characters that I have learned very little about is that "Victoria the white cat" is the main protagonist who is a local, "Mr. Mistoffeless" is a magician, "Jennyanydots the gumbie cat" (Rebel Wilson) is a lazy cat that barely does anything, and "Macavity the mystery cat" (Idris Elba) is the main antagonist. 95% of this musical movie is just singing and dancing. I did not enjoy the songs in the soundtrack that much; they are not very catchy, they are weak, they drag on and on for far too long (which makes the whole story drag on for far too long), and the lyrics are quite forgettable because they sound a little bit like they are either mumbling or maybe even worse: It's barely a bunch of nonsense. I honestly don't even know. There are lines of dialogue that don't make much sense and other times where each actor is singing and the camera runs for a long time in one very long take. The star-studded cast has wasted their delivery with not much flavor within their material. The production design or the backgrounds make the characters as small as a cat, but unfortunately that's not saying much at all. There is not that much to say about this movie. In conclusion: It's bland, tedious, flavorless, strange (in a badly redundant manner), and pointless. Skip it!

No amount of Crown Royal could make me enjoy this movie. From the awfully number of times they used Jellicle, to the unneeded musical numbers of unimportant characters, there was bearly any indication of the real plot to this movie. They used $95 million dollars to make the sound of eerie chorus throughout 110 minutes. I'm now an alcoholic thanks to this film.
