A man writing a book about the paranormal travels to New York and stays in a hotel room that has been said to be responsible for the death of all the guests that come to stay. Based on the short story by Stephen King.

Typical King: nonsensical. The acting was all fine and uncharacteristically (thankfully) grave. i need to stop trying to watch King horrors because they just aren't good like his dramas are.

Great movie. Wish I could delete it from my brain just so I could watch it again. Horror movies with suspense never affect me but this one good. The only horror movie that ever freaked me out was the original The shining this is almost as good as The shining

This movie has two endings, one where he dies, and one where he doesn't, but gets a box back with his burned, but still functioning tape-recorder in it. That's the ending in this version. You should still be able to find the alternate ending on YouTube, known as the cemetery ending.
