About this movie

Take an unforgettable, uniquely magical journey through director Tim Burton's deliciously delightful, whimsically wonderful world of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. When eccentric candy man Willy Wonka promises a lifetime supply of sweets and a tour of his chocolate factory to five lucky kids, penniless Charlie Bucket seeks the priceless golden ticket that will make him a winner. Thanks to his Grandpa Joe, Charlie gets the prize of his dreams! But a far more wonderful surprise than Charlie ever imagined awaits him. In a land of chocolate waterfalls, giant lollipops, edible flowers and, of course, Oompa Loompas, it's nonstop, mouth-watering fun in the timeless fantasy Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Based on the children's classic by Roald Dahl.

Johnny Depp did a fantastic job of creating a living, breathing Willy Wonka that is completely different to Gene Wilder's scary, shouty version. This is more suitable for children with its lack of worms crawling through noses that the "original" film had. Don't listen to the old fuddy duddies who are just upset because it's not the 70s anymore, do your kids a favour, and rent the Johnny Depp version.

Don't waste your time with this junk. It ruined Roald Dahl's story and the original Gene wilder film. People who rate this as 5 stars have obviously not seen the 1970's original and let's face it, better one.

Rubbish film and it totally ruins the original and it's absolutely the most appalling and it's just a bunch of incomprehensible gibberish!!! Plus Depp playing as Mr Wonka is one of the most ugly, recalcitrant and most hateful imbeciles I've ever seen This film is a stupid reboot!!! Watch the original because Gene Wilder is the genius
