This is a hidden gem from Lifetime. I got the basic gist of the movie before watching. Girl discovers something that leads her to a mental crisis: That the man she's known all her life as her father may not actually be. Little ways through the movie, we already get to this part, so I'm wondering how they're going to make this compelling enough to make me feel enough emotionally for the characters. Because the movie's only been running for no more than 20 minutes and the girl's already estranged from her father. But the movie really does pick up, and the plot unfolds in a dramatic way. All I can say about the latter half of the movie, without spoiling it, is that it had me in tears. I found that the father-daughter dynamic is explored wonderfully here, and the movie found a good balance between that and the "crime thriller" narrative thread. The acting dips a few times (not too jarringly), but Tim Hildreth and Maggie Elizabeth Jones (as father and daughter, respectively) absolutely nail the emotional scenes. Ted Levine is very much in his element here in his role as a police chief (Monk, anyone?), and he drives much of the story along. I could probably re-watch this and cry again.

Acting leaves a little to be desired, but the storyline is heart warming and gripping and speaks of Gods forgiveness and second chances.
