One of the most critically-acclaimed films of the 80s, Children of a Lesser God garnered four Academy Award nominations and a Best Actress Oscar for Marlee Matlin. Based on the hit Broadway play, it's the uplifting love story of John Leeds (William Hurt), an idealistic special education teacher, and a headstrong deaf girl named Sarah (Marlee Matlin). At first, Leeds sees Sarah as a teaching challenge. But soon their teacher/student relationship blossoms into a love so passionate it shatters the barrier of silence that keeps them apart.

I wish I could have enjoyed this movie; however it kept skipping. It is most certainly NOT my internet connection because I have netflix and live stream all the time.

I used to describe my last name as referring to a diminutive or lesser god. Still some power even in a lesser god. In spite of Ghostbusters. Hi to Mark Medoff and Las Cruces.

I love how there are visuals in the movie (because the story is about a Deaf girl falling in love with a hearing teacher) than I even thought about in a movie! Whether you are hearing or Deaf, Children of a Lesser God is a must see movie for all!
