I liked the movie, but it was like reading a piece of news. Little emotions. And the rosebud, the lost piece, I liked the message, but I was hoping we could get closer to knowing mr kanes personality. I'm just confused a little bit.

I remember ditching my AM English classes in high school when we were screening this. Film came into my life once again in a college film class and blew me away. Truly the best film of all time and my absolute favorite.

Strange that there is only one review for what many consider to be the greatest movie ever made. Regardless, my contribution won't change much, as I also intend to give this film 5 stars. If nothing else, know that this film is far, far more entertaining than any other film I have seen from the early 1940s. Even discounting the unparalleled film-making, the story of this movie is incredibly engaging, its wit is cutting and surprising, its message is timeless, and it is all delivered at a pace that always maintains its momentum. As a first time viewer and a still-green film buff, I recommend this film 100%. It's not just some stuffy classic!
