Foucault called it "panopticism": which refers to the surveillance society. This movie confirms panopticism isn't some far out theory, but a dark and ever present reality. The future is bleak. I sort of feel for Snowden. Brave but ultimately destroyed by the very system he sought to reveal.

All the sinister sound effects, etc, don't wipe away the simple truth that Ed Snowden is a traitor who exposed national security methods to terrorist entities.

Really engaging. He came across as thoughtful and concerned for others. Is there a justification for avoiding terrorism? Maybe. But that's such a slippery slope and they're using it to give economic advantage to the US. Whenever the US Government interferes in other nations, it doesn't work out well. The number of US bases, security agencies and staff must be staggering. Imagine what they could do with poverty, education and infrastructure in the US with all that wasted money.
