Thông tin về bộ phim này

City Lights, the most cherished film by Charlie Chaplin, is also his ultimate Little Tramp chronicle. The writer-director-star achieved new levels of grace, in both physical comedy and dramatic poignancy, with this silent tale of a lovable vagrant falling for a young blind woman who sells flowers on the street (a magical Virginia Cherrill) and mistakes him for a millionaire. Though this Depression-era smash was made after the advent of sound, Chaplin remained steadfast in his love for the expressive beauty of the pre-talkie form. The result was the epitome of his art and the crowning achievement of silent comedy.

Odd how it's rated 9-12 years of age, when Chaplin himself had sex with kids as young as around 9-12. He was a disgrace to humanity. Nothing but a glorified child rapist!

This is one of my all time favorite movies. I first saw it on the big screen in film history class 30 years ago. It's a classic love story like no other. The Tramp (Charlie Chaplan) and a wealthy blind woman fall in love. The ensuing story is heartwarming and delightful. I've seen over 2,000 films and this is in my Top 10.

it's amazing how Chaplin can convey all these emotions without speaking a single word, as this film was not made insilent era. I wished he had made a 2nd part for this as well as for ''The Kid'' but I guess he let the viewers make up the rest. As always Great acting, Great story n Great music.
