Closet Monster stars Connor Jessup (Falling Skies, American Crime) and Isabella Rossellini as Buffy the talking hamster. Oscar Madly, a creative and driven teenager who hovers on the brink of adulthood is affected by his dysfunctional parents, unsure of his sexuality, and haunted by horrific images of a tragic gay bashing he witnessed as a child. Oscar dreams of escaping the town he feels is suffocating him, leading him to embark on a journey of self-discovery along with his imagination and the prospect of a love that will ultimately bring him closer to confronting his inner monster.

Calificaciones y opiniones

The best visual depiction of internalised homophobia I have ever seen in a movie. The fantastical elements tie directly to the story's themes, aren't so overdone they're unbelievable and hold it all together lending it an almost-dream like quality. The framing and the colouring were beautiful in places and the cast were all fine, especially the lead who nailed it. I've never seen coming out/horror executed so well and I was pleasantly surprised.

Fantastic, definitely worth a watch!
