How can a split-second decision change your life? While investigating noises in his house one balmy Texas night in 1989, Richard Dane (Michael C. Hall) puts a bullet in the brain of a low-life burglar, Freddy. Although he’s hailed as a small-town hero, Dane soon finds himself fearing for his family’s safety when Freddy’s ex-con father, Ben Russel (Sam Shepard), rolls into town; hell-bent on revenge. However, not all is as it seems. Shortly after Dane kills the home intruder, his life begins to unravel into a dark underworld of corruption and violence.

Cold In July is one of those films that lingers in your subconscious after viewing it, it's a flawless masterpiece and shows the ramifications of violent acts. Why is this film so special? Michael C. Hall plays a man named Richard Dane who confronts an intruder in his home at night, after that fateful night his life spirals out of control. The film deals with violence in an adult and subtle way, it shows the audience that violence isn't the answer; one of my favourite things in this film is how human each character is which gives the characters a three-dimensional quality to them. I highly recommend this film because it's a flawless masterpiece.

Utter cack, don`t waste a pound even to rent it.
