Set against this backdrop, this gritty coming-of-age story stars stage and screen favorite Bernadette Peters (TV’s SMASH, TV’s UGLY BETTY) in a striking dramatic role as Diane, the charismatic but impractical mother of 15-year-old Alice. As her mother chases fantasies of a better life, Alice struggles to make ends meet. Saddled with insurmountable debt, they’re forced to move to a dangerous neighborhood and soon Alice is faced with a harrowing decision. How much can she afford to sacrifice for the one she loves?
