I like heroic fantasy enough to have read the Conan stories and while this movie has something of the spirit of the stories, it plays like a video game with the stunts getting more and more ludicrous as the story unfolds. It also feels as though, lacking inspiration to create their own scenes, they copied various ideas from other movies. For example, the sand warriors, the Freddy Kruger-esque hand - we've seen it all before and we didn't need to see it in this movie. It felt like one gimmick after another with sets looking as though they were specifically set up to have various bodies crash through them. I'm very glad I rented this from Google Play and never paid full price to see it at the cinema.

The current Conan film, though it seems cheap, has a secret: it's getting followed by an Adult Swim cartoon tv show instead! Thank god, this film is actually closer to a forgotten fact that fans will not know: Middle Ages marked the decimation of Mainland European Celts in almost all of Europe! (Warning: this doesn't include current Celts, which are in Ireland, parts of UK and northwest France) Jason Momoa's modern day Conan has virtually more similarities to Samurai Jack, than any of the other Conan incarnations ever designed! This is because his crazy Samurai Jack-like manners will make him a worthy go for the current king of teen and adult kitsch, my hero Genndy Tartakovsky! This 2011 film is actually a prequel to the upcoming Tartakovsky dreamed Adult Swim show that is simply codenamed "Wrestler Conan'. Wrestler Conan will have three seasons to be written - often by Tartavosky - and has the same black comedy just like the film.

l loved it and l thought it was very good as l love jason too. it dragged on abit at the start but got better. If u love looking at jason moma then watch this movie very good eye candy.
