George Pal won me over with "War of the Worlds." Conquest of Space did not have the same pace as the former, but still has enough entertainment value for me to like. The acting is very much 1950's as many of the astronauts conduct themselves like young men still reeling from winning the war. Women are still looked as as eye candy, and there are the usual tension between alphas. But hey, it this a fun film, and it paved the way for better films by George Pal. If you like his other films like WOTW, or "Destination Moon", "The Time Tunnel" and "When Words Collide"... then this film is a must to add to the repertoire of sci-fi movies to enjoy.
