Mike Young
Classic movie with two great stars in one of the most authentic 'cowboy' movies that takes place near the end of the cattle drives. Railroads are taking over but there is still money to made by tough men by moving cattle from mexico to rail heads in the United States. It's mostly free of cliche and the myth of the old west while showing what it meant to be a cowboy. No glamour, just hard, unrelenting work in difficult conditions. A hotel clerk leaves for the adventurous life of a cowboy after being jilted by his girl and finds it's not all it's cracked up to be. Glen Ford plays the tough "boss" who runs the crew and starts showing Jack Lemon the realities of driving cattle.
