This movie has everything you want in a classic noir thriller. John Lacy has a way of telling a story that keeps you riveted to the edge of your seat. Lacy has taken a complex topic and through his direction created a story that draws you in from beginning to end. Josh Daugherty plays Logan a divorced father at the end of his rope. He brings depth and range to the character rarely seen in movies. Each scene he is in is full of emotion and depth. The beautiful part is it is not always the same emotion. Erin Fleming as Ashley is is a beautiful mess that at moments brings a connection to the viewer that is breathtaking. Fleming has some amazingly honest parts in the movie. There is nothing minor about Frank Crim or Angdrea Muller's roles as Otis and Loretta. They do a great job filling out the scenes as the story unfolds. This movie is has so much going on yet doesn't try to be bigger than it is. Lacy does a great job doling out plot points with just enough regularity that you are never entirely sure what is around the bend,. If you enjoy the muddied waters of the real world yet want to escape into a story then Custody Road is worth every second of your time.

It's definitely a unique story about a custody battle. I enjoyed the movie and thought the acting was great.
