Three young women, facing grueling obstacles, grapple with the staggering impacts of their frontline activism on their personal lives. Fear of failure and not achieving change drives them, more than their fear of violence or death. By facing fear, they transform it into something else entirely. Dear Future Children examines topics predominantly sidelined by films where the message is more important than the messenger, and places focus on the stakes, sacrifices and supports of activism—the physical and psychological toll of fighting authority, the hidden costs of resistance in pursuit of justice and the crucial importance of community to perseverance.
