100% cash grab. There is nothing funny about Mel Gibson in this movie. In fact, there is nothing funny to laugh about in this movie AT ALL - the jokes and lines are stale, and you will get annoyed having to sit watching one jumpy kid who has purposely visible and audible ADD(+whatever) outbursts throughout the ENTIRE film (couldn't have edited that out? I wanted to throw rotten tomatoes at the screen! This just ruined the movie completely! If I wanted that I'd go to some random BBQ full of buzzing ADD kids).

The sequel is never as good as the original, which is why Daddy's Home 2 gets 4/5 stars. It was very funny, but it seemed like they tried a bit too hard to make it complement the first movie. Some of the bits in the sequel were almost exact copies from the original movie. However, Mel Gibson was perfect for the role of Dusty's dad and as always, played the part brilliantly. I don't think I would have chosen John Lithgow for the role of Brad's father, but I wasn't asked for my input during casting 😎.

There were a couple of funny parts. However, the story is terribly written. One major problem is that there are too many characters, and that means less time for realistic character development. Not to mention that the women and kids are just supporting roles, who barely have any screen time and have no impact on the story. Every relationship dynamic is ridiculous and unrealistic. It was not as funny as the first one.
