A light and sound based play on the life of Jesus Christ is being planned in the village and the parish priest is on a lookout for an actor who could play Christ. They come across Cleetus (Mammootty), a serene looking man with the eyes of a lamb, who, after some persuasion agrees to play the role. At the rehearsal camp, encountering some trouble, they realize that Cleetus is a cutthroat criminal. During the staging of the play, the events in the life of Cleetus start to mirror the events on the Life of Jesus in the Bible. A crucial event draws the villagers to his side as he rushes to save a girl from almost drowning in the river. A directorial debut by Marthandan and scripted by Benny P. Nayarambalam.
