À propos de ce film

An imperfect man fights for survival during an uncertain time in America. Inspired by true events, Ron Woodroof's story of strength is told in Dallas Buyers Club, directed by Jean-Marc Vallée from an original screenplay by Craig Borten and Melisa Wallack. Matthew McConaughey portrays the real-life character, whose self --interest is galvanised into something much more. Blindsided by his diagnosis of HIV and given 30 days to live, Woodruff's search for alternative treatments helped establish a way in which HIV positive people across the country could access his supplies. An outsider to the gay community, Ron finds an unlikely ally in fellow AIDS patient Rayon (Jared Leto) and together they embark on a battle with the medical establishment and a fight for dignity, education and acceptance. 2013 DALLAS BUYERS CLUB, LLC. Great acting, but this is a libertarian fantasy of a movie which makes the FDA seem a lot worse than they actually were in that they were really trying to stop ineffective treatments, and they were not so heavy handed. The film shows, in effect, the beginnings of the alternative medicine industry.

Matthew McConaughey showing further proof why he is one of the best actors at the moment; see Mud, Wolf and True Detectives for further evidence. Its quite a story, well presented. Worth a watch

No frills, no spills. What you have here is a good solid acting movie from McConaughey. Story - beginning, middle and end - at the right pace and in the correct proportions. How many movies do you watch and there is a massive middle? Well written, well directed, well shot - great work from cameramen to give it a realistic feel. This one gets a five - because it is up there. Captivated from beginning to end.
