A rag-tag band of survivors of a nuclear holocaust head for Albany|New York|the only city in America spared in the apocalypse. Tanner|Denton and Keegan are co-workers at an underground military facility. They find themselves an all-terrain vehicle and set out for the (now) wilds of up-state New York. Along the way they pick up a number of survivors|including a surly and incorrigible teenager. On the way to their destination|they find themselves fighting not just mutant insects and the savage landscape|but themselves as they try to forge bonds to survive.

My first time watching this! Vintage 70s, Apocalyptic road trip movie, set in an armored RV with a handful of survivors looking for the last civilized population in Albany, NY. From west coast to east coast, this cast of Walking dead rejects encounter giant scorpions, killa cockraoches, the hillbilly Driver Bros from 'Delieverence' and many, psychedelic super storms. Dollar store grade cheesy fx (like 1950s style but in color!) and even cheesier characters OMG I had so much fun watching this👍

Come on Rotten Tomatoes, 44%? Most all special effects were before CG, of course look "cheesy" by today's standards, but this was made 1977! Good story! Those giant ATVS were REAL AND FUNCTIONAL - each powered by 2 Chrysler 440 cid, V8 Magnum engines. They articulate and bend in middle, like Gamma Goats we had in US Army Vietnam war era.
