I remember watching as a kid and being traumatized by the acid lake scene. Yep still v stressful to watch. Poor gran. Pierce is super handsome. Very 90's moment when they discuss her coffee techniques and storage. Overall solid enough. The dog survives so it's worth watching when hung over on Sunday.

Solid storyline & screen story, acting was top shelf, splendiferous scenery in most scenes. All GranD. Zero negatives to be found with the exception of maybe it was a little short & loved the scenery & could have enjoyed a lot more of it. On IMDB rated it 9∗ & it's hard to get 9 & above Stars from me. Enjoyed watching it many times... Mic Cl;-)~ Ririe, Idaho

"Dante's Peak" (1997) is WAY better than its twin rival "Volcano" (1997)
because "Dante's Peak" is much more realistic and scientifically accurate.
During the time I was in elementary school, my favorite scene was when the
characters flee from a flood of lava that literally vaporizes the wall. Now
that I am a young adult, I am now into the pyroclastic cloud scene.
