Of her three books, I've always thought her first book -- Sharp Objects -- is the outstanding example of Gillian Flynn's storytelling. Dark Places was a difficult read, for the same reason its film adaptation is difficult, because of the dual points of view that shifts the reader between past and present. The film leaves out so much detail that helps the reader to really invest in Libby Day. This is no Gone Girl.

As always the book was SO much better, and it would not have been impossible for them to recreate it. But, once again Hollywood failed to do right. 😞

This movie is so so good! I loved it! I needed a movie to watch on my lazy Sunday and I'm so glad I chose this. The storyline is awesome. I love how they used flashbacks throughout the movie to help solve the crime. Haven't seen a good movie like this in awhile.
