As husband and wife Daniel and Lacey Barret witness an escalating series of disturbing events involving their family, their safe and peaceful home quickly unravels. When it becomes clear that the Barret family is being targeted by an unimaginably terrifying and deadly force, the couple takes matters in their own hands to solve the mystery of what is after their family. Written and Directed by Scott Stewart (PRIEST, LEGION). Starring: Keri Russell (TV's THE AMERICANS), Josh Hamilton (J. EDGAR), Dakota Goyo (RISE OF THE GUARDIANS), and J.K. Simmons (SPIDER-MAN FRANCHISE).

This movie was dull. It seems like a remake of poltergeist without a reason for me to care if the family disappears. It is about a dull "Starbucks coffee" couple and their whiny brats. Ugh i didn't care about the characters in the first sceen. Then it went down hill from there. Stupid side stories about uncomfortable moments in teenage love. It was pervy and it had a sound track (the only song in the entire movie) plus the sub story about the fams money woes.......who cares scare me! This movie sucks!

The movie had some unique moments but, overall, I felt it was lukewarm. The plot was certainly interesting but, as other reviewers mentioned, the questions were not fully explored leaving the viewer feeling a bit too empty at the end.

Really one of the scariest movies ever. A descent into madness, filled with gaslighting aliens. Some omages to Poltergeist are present, but it is very much its own movie and it is well done. Perhaps a couple things could have been done without, but otherwise it deserves 5 stars. Great use of background music too, reminds me of when producers actually gave a darn more often.
