A rich amateur treasure hunter assembles an expert group to investigate a possible location for the legendary Yamashita's Gold -- lost treasure looted from across Asia by Japanese forces during World War 2. Venturing deep into the jungles of a remote Indonesian island, the group finds itself under attack and forced into an apparently abandoned mine... only to become trapped underground in a Japanese Imperial Army bunker. They quickly realize that they are not alone, and face a desperate struggle to escape, or fight to the death. Dead Mine tells the tale of a motley crew of amateur treasure hunters on the trail of the legendary lost gold of Yamashita in an Indonesian jungle but they find more than what they bargained for. Filled with creepy samurai warriors and undead Japanese soldiers who are unaware that the war has ended, having been bio-engineered by the infamous Unit 731. Directed by UK film-maker Steven Sheil, whom low-budgeted début feature film, Mom and Dad, turned quite a number of heads with its subdued creepiness, Dead Mine marks HBO Asia's first foray into original film-making as they collaborate with Singapore-based film studio, Infinite Frameworks. © Pinnacle Films 2012 (Original Title: Dead Mine)
