關於這部電影

Academy Award(R) winner Robin Williams (Best Supporting Actor, Good Will Hunting, 1997) delivers one of his most memorable performances in Dead Poets Society. For generations, Welton Academy students have been groomed to live lives of conformity and tradition - until new professor John Keating inspires them to think for themselves, live life to the fullest and "Carpe Diem." This unconventional approach awakens the spirits of the students, but draws the wrath of a disapproving faculty when an unexpected tragedy strikes the school. With unforgettable characters and beautiful cinematography, Dead Poets Society will captivate and inspire you time and time again.

Yes, in 1997 he DID win the Academy Award (finally) for his performance in "Good Will Hunting", but...his role as Mr. Keating in "Dead Poets Society" was the film that he received his first Oscar nomination. Not sure who he lost to, but that other actor's performance must have been absolutely stellar to have won over Williams' performance in this. Best known for his comedy, this is true. But Robin had his dramatic side, through and through. R.I.P Mr. Williams. You will always be...my Captain.

This movie speaks about the love, hate, joy and sadness we as humans share no matter who we are. No man is an island unto himself, and no man can truly enjoy this world and all it gives unless we truly seize the day and live our life for not just ourselves, but for those we live and cherish as well. Great movie, and a stellar performance by all. Robin Williams is hitting on all cylinders, and I can't believe he didn't get an award for this. Worth seeing at least once.

My favorite movie out of all Robin Williams's movies. In this movie, Williams portrays the role of an excellent mentor/motivator. However popularity vs protocol has its share of interesting outcomes. Dead Poet's Society is an edgy, comedic, sinister, uplifting, and progressive movie. You'll need a new box of Kleenex for each guest viewing this film...a true Williams classic!
