I thoroughly enjoyed this film. It held my attention from start to finish, and kept me guessing without ever leaving me behind. The finale ending was a satisfying surprise that doesn't feel contrived. The focus is on effective storytelling rather than overdone effects, clever-clever set pieces or tortuous plot lines. The care spent in script development and post-production shows clearly, and the end result holds a consistent pace throughout. The character acting and directing are well-judged and believable. There aren't any long speeches or philosophical exposition, just three characters trying to make sense of the paranormal activity happening around them. Special effects are used in a measured way to create tension and enhance the narrative. I didn't notice any technical limitations in the production that detracted from the overall experience, and it didn't feel low-budget. I can think of lots of TV dramas that aren't as good as this.

Concept and storyline good hence 2/3 stars but poorly edited....colour poor in parts of film and sound dreadful. Would have sounded better if premiere was not held in school hall type room. It's a shame as clearly the producers worked hard but have been let down. In one scene you can see the film crew!!! In same scene no other families around in a family themed park in a supposed half term. Awkward scene to watch.

Deadly Intent is a nice suspense story. Things go bump in the night as you hope they will (or hope they won't depending) and the family angle keeps you engaged throughout the film. I enjoyed the visual style of the film and the hard work the filmmakers put into it. Independent films always have some kind of limitation or another, but the director did a nice job crafting a rounded film. I look forward to seeing what they come up with next. It's a good film to check out this Halloween season.
