Here's the thing: the cute-girl-falls-for-military-guy story is about the last thing I want to watch, were it not for the gorgeous Amanda Seyfried, and people who insisted that Channing Tatum is great. For the first half I thought I'd made a horrible mistake, and that Tatum is just there as eye candy for the girls. And then: the second half. Absence makes the heart grow fonder, yada yada, but it's dealt with a maturity & depth I wasn't expecting. Tatum is good in the role. Give it time, give it a chance.

Love, relationships, life - so well done. I love it, so compelling I watched it twice. No other movie has enticed me to watch it twice.

I rate this movie for the depiction of the father son relationship & how a good girlfriend can bridge the gap.
