The film is shot in Venice, with stunningly beautiful photography and a haunting soundtrack based on Mahler's 5th symphony. A truly sad story of desperacy, love and loneliness. Must see classic.

Both tender and emotional. Brilliantly shot movie. Simply classic. And as for the music....Mahler at his best.
