Harry Block (Woody Allen) is an immature foul-mouthed author whose ex-wives and lovers, family and friends object to his philandering and unreliability, and his habit of using them, thinly disguised, as fodder for his work. Suffering from writer's block and eagerly awaiting a lifetime achievement award from his alma mater, Harry Block remembers events from his past and scenes from his best-selling books as characters, real and fictional, come back to haunt him.
