Les studios Illuminations et Nintendo s'associent pour produire le film basé sur l'univers du célèbre jeu : Super Mario Bros. Réalisé par Aaron Horvath et Michael Jelenic (qui avaient déjà travaillé ensemble sur la série Teen Titans Go ! (2013-2020), ainsi que son adaptation au cinéma (TEEN TITANS GO ! TO THE MOVIES, 2019), le scénario est signé Matthew Fogel (LA GRANDE AVENTURE LÉGO 2, 2019, LES MINIONS 2 : IL ÉTAIT UNE FOIS GRU, 2022). Chris Pratt prêtera sa voix à Mario, Anya Taylor-Joy à Princesse Peach, tandis que Charlie Day endossera la casquette verte de Luigi, Jack Black sera Bowser, Keegan-Michael Key assumera la tête de champignon de Toad, Seth Rogen sera Donkey Kong, alors que Fred Armisen incarnera son grand-père, Cranky Kong, et enfin on trouvera Kevin Michael Richardson dans le rôle de Kamek ainsi que Sebastian Maniscalco dans celui de Spike. Le film est produit par Chris Meledandri le fondateur et dirigeant des studios Illuminations, en collaboration avec Shigeru Miyamoto pour Nintendo. Le film sera co-financé par Universal Pictures et Nintendo et distribué dans le monde entier par Universal Pictures.

Notes et avis

My kids loved it. My wife and I liked it. Not sure why critic scores are so mixed/low. It's a fun popcorn kids movie - the plot is simple yes. The movie is fun, eye candy, with some laughs - and has plenty of comedy and nostalgia for parents as well. There are a couple Luigi moments in the Dark Lands that might be considered scary for some really little kids (under 5). But other than that - it's pretty light. Perfect family and kids movie.

Slow paced and jokes wasted on the preview of the movie. They made Mario 2nd fiddle to princess peach. It's more like the princesses movie then Mario movie but I guess I expected too much from Hollywood I should have known better... definitely wait till it comes out on a streaming service not worth the money for the purchase

i personally loved the movie. it was funny, entertaining, and goofy. my favorite part had to be the scene where bowser was singing peaches. it sounded like the spanish word "pinche" and it made me laugh. anyways, i personally would of taken bowsers offer in marriage proposal ;).. but that's just me. i'm glad they included the yoshi egg teaser, but i wish he was in the movie, so four stars for that reason. i also wish mario and luigi had italian accents because italians make me smile.
