This can stand apart from the first and be a good movie. It has a story line that can appeal to children or adults separately or together. A well rounded storyline for the whole family. We have watched many times just since we purchased it on dvd.

Yes! Illumination is back and better than ever. The minions and Gru are back, and this time they're even funnier. It is also a great deal better than HOP. Let's hope they stay this good.

I was kind of looking forward to watching this with my family after the first one. This is a great kids movie but as an adult it had a confusing story plot and wasn't as funny as portrayed in the trailers. Though there was some great adult humor it was rare.
