The true story of the highly publicized "West Memphis Three" case, in which three young men were convicted of murdering three eight year old boys. Detective Ron Lax (Firth) took on the case pro bono and found DNA evidence linking Terry Hobbs (Nivola), the stepfather of one of the three murdered boys, to material that was used to bind one of the young victims -- evidence that helped convince a judge to release the three men in 2011. Based on the book by Mara Leveritt.
