Sobre este filme

Facing Christmas 3,000 miles from his estranged wife and two children, New York policeman John McClane (Bruce Willis) flies to Los Angeles bearing presents and hoping to patch up his marriage. Stylish and cool Hans Gruber (Alan Rickman) is in Los Angeles as well for the holiday season, but he's not there to give out presents. He's there to take more than $600 million in negotiable bearer bonds from the multinational Nakatomi Corporation, where McClane's wife Holly (Bonnie Bedelia) is an executive. When the takeover becomes hostile, it's up to John McClane to take on the terrorists with all the grit and determination he can muster--but not without a sense of humor.

If you're looking for an action movie to enjoy this holiday season, Die Hard is definitely for you. The film, directed by John McTiernan, tells the story of an NYPD police officer, John McClane, who goes to Los Angeles to visit his estranged wife, Holly, on Christmas. However, when a group of terrorists led by Hans Gruber takes over the Nakatomi plaza skyscraper, it's up to McClane to stop them. McTiernan's direction is superb as he keeps the constant feeling of suspense in each scene and moves the plot forward. Although the movie has well-done action scenes, it focuses more on presenting the main hero as a normal man who goes through daily problems, which sets the movie apart from other 1980s action films. The movie has some of the best stories ever put on an action film and you are constantly on the edge of your seat, fearing for the hero's survival. It also has a great cast, as Bruce Willis gives a magnificent performance as John McClane and you root for him for the entire film. The late Alan Rickman is fantastic as Hans Gruber and he provides a legitimate threat to the hero. On the downside, the scenes with the reporters are my least favorite aspects of the film and the plot can be a bit tedious. Overall, Die Hard is an action classic that still holds up and one of the most influential films in its genre. Definitely recommend it on your Christmas watchlist.

The movie is a 5 Star for sure... but only offering it in 4k so they can up the price is a stupid move. The movie was shot 30 years ago and even with the original film, you probably can't get to 4k level and on top of that, many of us don't have TVs that can handle 4k. Google messed up on this one and I got it from Amazon instead.

Not a review for the movie more for the ability to watch the movie. Im sorry but slapping 4k on something and upcharging when the movie was made in 1988 is a bunch of bull, you'd be lucky if its in 1080p. On top of that the video player seems to want to buffer for ever as its been 6 minutes with high speed internet and the video is still buffering. The streaming services are a joke today, $12 a services and you have to have 13 different services to watch maybe, MAYBE 60% of stuff out there.
