Join the action-packed adventure of a group of dinosaurs overcoming enormous challenges through courage, loyalty and hope in Disney's DINOSAUR, a special effects phenomenon! Set 65 million years ago, DINOSAUR tells the compelling story of Aladar, an iguanadon who is separated from his own kind and raised by a clan of lemurs, including the wisecracking Zini and the compassionate Plio. When a meteor shower destroys their home, Aladar and his family follow a herd of dinosaurs heading for the safety of the "nesting grounds." Along the way, Aladar befriends Baylene, an elderly brachiosaur, Eema, an unstoppable strachosaur, and Neera, a feisty fellow iguanadon. Together, they must stand strong amidst food and water shortages, the threat of carnotaur attacks, and Aladar's run-ins with the herd's stubborn leader, Kron.

Not since "The Land Before Time" or even "Jurassic Park" has anything that made me so skillfully distracted, that it astonishes me like this underrated gem from Walt Disney, as I was enthralled and awestruck from beginning to end. "Dinosaur" is the definitive example of primitive filmmaking involving prehistoric creatures for families done right, and it clearly shows that something simple can deliver something compelling. "Dinosaur" is not trying to manipulate or force me to love it (in a way that is wrong?), instead, this film is being genuinely sincere in a more realistic approach that takes itself seriously, making "Dinosaur" feel grounded and convincing; it is fully aware of the horrific dangers that are going on in our world, like hazardous weather, and the bullies that rely on brute strength. "Dinosaur" definitely has a huge heart and it has a lot more than just teamwork, it is also about what it takes to have good leadership, and the way that this moral is handled here makes it politically correct. It even has compassion that feels quite considerable too. And the narrator clearly reveals one particular theme that speaks out to us in the former: "the smallest things can make the biggest changes." There is no question that visuals make "Dinosaur" a stunning technical achievement. The two directors (Ralph Zondag and Eric Leighton) has provided great timing and appropriate speed for the film; allowing us to provide the opportunity to absorb and admire the grandiose spectacle that delivers a formidable sense of awe and majesty. It even has an epic sense of scale. The amazing animation really emotes with appropriate facial designs, and the detailed skin of the creatures. The movie has a grand sense of adventure with lots of obstacles, and most of them are so dangerous and so frightening, they can be daunting to the audience. The pathos are somber and sorrowful, the suspenseful elements are superbly-staged, the action sequences are dramatically rousing, and they made me feel pretty anxious, and the latter of the film is wonderfully uplifting. The sounds effects are some of the most impressive and most haunting assets to the movie, The vocalizations and footsteps of the creatures adds serious weight to them. The majestic score by James Newton Howard is one of the most potent and memorable film scores. The score is very fitting for a movie about dinosaurs with the correct instrumentation to match the tradition, and the score is involving enough to enhance the emotion of the movie with a robust orchestra and choir. "Dinosaur" may be a fictional fantasy adventure about dinosaurs, but it's not intelligibly educational, and it has something even better: This film in particular shows different species of dinosaurs that we have never heard of or seen before, from the mighty Iguanodon to the fearsome Carnotaurus. It even introduces us prehistoric lemurs, they are called 'Archaeolemurs." Families watching the movie will analyze how these dinosaurs behave in terms of the features that not only sets these creatures apart, but also that they use and how they use them. The characters themselves are worth remembering as they are the ones responsible for the moral aspect of the film. The admirable voice performances by the cast are some of the strongest aspects that make 'Dinosaur" an engaging experience. Aladar the three-ton Iguanodon is one of my favorite main heroes ever; he is highly compassionate and thoughtful to everyone even the most cynical, but he does know what's right and what's wrong when it comes to leadership; having courage, heart, and knowledge. D.B. Sweeney's emotional voice acting is a perfect fit for Aladar. The cast for the Archaeolemurs all did a fantastic job. Della Reese and Joan Plowright are phenomenal as the two elder herbivores. Kron is a ruthless tyrant that only relies brute strength, and Samuel E. Wright has the formidable voice to match. The Carnotaurs instills terror with their fearsome appearances, charging speed, and ferocity. Highly Recommended! (suitable for ages eight and up).

Better than expected. Lovable characters. Outdated cgi obviously, but not terrible. Anyone who's done some retro gaming knows that perfect modern visuals aren't necessary for a good time. I'm surprised I never saw nor heard of this movie before now. Glad this little gem didn't slip past my radar forever. Pretty simple movie too, not exactly many complexities and diverse characters like some of the newest ones have. Many characters do die in the movie, and it can feel a bit dark at times due to the gravity of the situation the characters are in. So some young kids might not handle those parts well.

This is one of my favorite childhood dinosaur movies and Disney movies of all time and it’s one of the greatest dinosaur movies ever made in 2000. I absolutely adore this movie so much and it’s so incredible, awesome looking, beautiful and far more watchable than the Walking with Dinosaurs 2013 Movie. This movie, The Land Before Time, Speckles the Tarbosaurus, Prehistoric Planet 3D and the Jurassic World Movies were way better dinosaur movies than Walking with Dinosaurs 2013 Movie. I would really enjoy this movie alongside The Land Before Time, Speckles the Tarbosaurus, Walking with Dinosaurs Prehistoric Planet 3D and the Jurassic World Movies as one of the greatest Jurassic movies of all time and I would put this as the best Disney movies of all time alongside The Lion King, Meet the Robinsons, Zootopia, Big Hero 6 and Wreck it Ralph as one of the best Disney movies of all time and in my childhood. Overall, this movie deserves a Score: 100/100 Grade: A+ This is one of my movie of all time and I absolutely love this movie.
