DOUTOR SONO VERSÃO DO DIRETOR apresenta cenas alternativas nunca antes vistas no cinema. “Doutor Sono” é a continuação da história de Danny Torrance, 40 anos após os eventos aterrorizantes de O Iluminado, de Stephen King. Ainda marcado profundamente pelo trauma sofrido durante a infância no Hotel Overlook, Dan Torrence lutou para encontrar um pouco de paz, que é logo destruída quando ele encontra Abra, uma adolescente corajosa, também dona de um poderoso dom extrassensorial, conhecido como "brilho". Reconhecendo instintivamente que Dan partilha do mesmo poder, Abra o procura para que ele a ajude na luta contra Rose, a Cartola, e seu culto de seguidores, o Verdadeiro Nó. Formando uma aliança improvável, Dan e Abra travam uma batalha de vida ou morte contra Rose. A inocência de Abra e o abraço destemido de seu brilho fazem Dan recorrer aos seus próprios poderes... enfrentando seus medos e despertando os fantasmas do passado.

Classificações e críticas

Any Stephen King adaptation is worth watching. But this is a strange combo of a Kuprik sequel based on a Stephen King original. Major disappointment if you read the book. Too many cuts and changes from the source material. Uncle dan, Billy and doc, changing Andi's age, zero mention of Silent Sarah. So much focus on the Overlook that the plot suffers.

Directors cut DR. Sleep was a good sequel, exploring the Shining and the trauma suffered by Danny. In order to get the full understanding of the films you need to watch The Shining first. After seeing both I think if both had been made as one mini series it would have been even better.

I do read the book before adding my opinion. In this case, is an exception because I read the words "40 yrs. ago" that is where I would start. Find the origanle maybe on line? What I read of the review was just a dinamic start. the thrill of the Chase. The few words in the beginning worked for me.
