If you're a fan of DOOM, do not watch this abomination. It completely ignores the story of the game. It's essentially another zombie horror flick, rather than being one man standing alone against the forces of Hell itself. The only redeemable part of this "film," if it can even be called that, is the first person action sequence towards the end. I will say that that part is wonderful, watching John Grimm (who I will say is excellently played by Karl Urban) blast his way through the UAC base. If you haven't played the games, you'll probably enjoy this movie. If you have, stay as far away from it as possible. There's no reference to Hell, and all the "demons" are just people infected with a serum. It's simply awful.

Why does the "BFG" only shoot ONE enemy? Why is there no realistic power-ups? Why aren't the monsters blood thirsty, and don't have mental down syndrome? Why did they make Dwayne Johnson look bad in this movie? Why couldn't they base part of the movie off of the Doom books,?(only the first 2) Where in the Actual hell is the cyber demon? Why can't there be a new doom movie where it actually plots off the game/books? It's not that hard to make a plot for a Doom movie, rest is understandable

This movie is a joke. It has the gall to associate itself with the king of first person shooters, and has nearly none of the charm the series is known for. This could be an easy film to make if Hollywood could get someone who at least played one of the games. The only positive thing I'll say is the bfg looks cool. Certainly better than the bfg in Doom annihilation. Other than that, it's a bad film, and it's bad rotten tomatoes score is more than deserved.
