To begin with, I'm not a big fan of remakes. Usually, they are altered past recognition. Not so in the case of Dorian Gray. Excellent work in bringing out the horror behind the beauty. Portrait was marvelous. Colin Firth has another great performance under his belt. Do not miss this re-done classic. Also, check out the original,

I found this version to be pretty reasonable in regards to the story's dark, dismal view on life, the human condition and sociology. It could have been better. However, I feel as though this is the best version I've seen.

I wish it had a few more conversations from the book and I wish Basil's death was done more along the lines of the book as well but movies can't be 5 hours long. I did love Ben Barnes as Dorian though.
