I found this version to be pretty reasonable in regards to the story's dark, dismal view on life, the human condition and sociology. It could have been better. However, I feel as though this is the best version I've seen.

Loved this movie. It's the right kind of creepy. It doesn't scare you to the point where you can't sleep, but it freaks you out enough to stay on your mind for a few hours after you watch it.

To begin with, I'm not a big fan of remakes. Usually, they are altered past recognition. Not so in the case of Dorian Gray. Excellent work in bringing out the horror behind the beauty. Portrait was marvelous. Colin Firth has another great performance under his belt. Do not miss this re-done classic. Also, check out the original,
