Barbara Novak (Renee Zellweger) hits New York City with her new book Down With Love, a feminist manifesto on saying "no" to love and "yes" to career, empowerment...and sex. As Barbara's revolutionary tome rockets to the top of best-seller charts, she becomes the target of ace journalist Catcher "Catch" Block (Ewan McGregor), ladies' man/man's man/man-about-town, who is determined to take her down. While Catch's best friend and boss, the neurotic Peter MacMannus (David Hyde Pierce), tries to rein in his star writer, he haplessly pursues the object of his own affections; Vikki Hiller, Barbara's brilliant and feisty editor Vikki plays tough in a man's world just like her protege Barbara...but will they end up unexpectedly in love?

Zellweger at her peak, McGregor at his finest, David Hyde Pierce demonstrating his comedic genius, and Sarah Paulson giving us a taste of what was to come in American Horror/Crime Story. As Holden Caulfield might say, just a g*dd*m gem. One of the most underrated films of all time.

I love this adorable and funny movie. So many parts are true. The actors do an amazing job and their comedic timing is spot on. I love the wardrobe, the hilarious references to the time period, and even the subtle innuendo. Do good!

My wife and I both enjoyed this over the top homage to the ridiculous 70s era films that it spoofs. Very funny, well edited, and great music.
