この映画について

From Academy Award winner Alexander Payne (The Descendants, Nebraska) comes the hilarious film that delivers big comedy... and small Matt Damon. When scientists find a way to shrink humans to five inches tall, Paul Safranek (Academy Award winner Matt Damon) and his wife Audrey (Kristen Wiig) decide to ditch their stressed out lives in order to get small and live large in a luxurious downsized community. Filled with life-changing adventures and endless possibilities, Leisureland offers more than riches, as Paul discovers a whole new world and realizes that we are meant for something bigger. Academy Award winner Christoph Waltz (Django Unchained) also stars in this tremendously entertaining and original film.

This is sold as a happy go lucky comedy with a novel concept in the trailers, which is a lie, this film lied to its audience about its contents and the reviews reflect that. It's a depressing, preachy film with a progressive agenda. The white male lead is portrayed as a buffoon stumbling through the world of the oppressed classes, while the champaign socialists lament the human ego and refusal to do what the intellectual elites decide is best for us.

you know you think they'll be a point of this film, exploring a whole concept and all then you see this and lose hope in them. They did a good job at detailing the downsizing part of it but the story is nonsense u watch the trailer and you know half the film, she leaves him thats it. The other half has no point other than he meets someone new which has to happen. For goodness sake movie have a point, no story at all apart from a man downsizing very boring story wise. Visuals and attention to engineering details is impressive but thats the extend of positives the film has

This isn't a laugh out loud comedy, so get that out your head before going into it. The premise lacks any real jeopardy for the lead character as it's established early on that we've already messed up the world but it's still not going to reach a critical point for ages. There are many threads that for me felt unfinished, key characters disappear and never come back. I enjoyed it. It's an interesting premise, it tries to make some valid and relevant points and it has a kooky indie feel with some seriously good actors raising it up. Despite it not being a straight up comedy it's an easy watch and has a life affirming message.
