About this movie

A comic reinvention of the Bela Lugosi classic about a Transylvanian vampire who works his evil spell on a perplexed group of Londoners. Mel Brooks's Count is a pratfalling evil prince of a guy who believes in long relationships. Brooks portrays vampire hunter Van Helsing, who won't give a bloodsucker an even break.

Basically this film is Naked Gun meets Mel Brooks. It's not a hilarious film, but there's enough silliness here to keep a smile on your face. Leslie Nielsen, Harvey Korman, and Mel Brooks are great, but Peter MacNicol and Lysette Anthony practically steal the show with their performances. Also, I should say that this film is nearly family friendly. There's some mild sexual content (no nudity), no profanity, and a little violence/gore but it's really very tame since it's used in a joking way.

This is another Mel Brooks classic. If you love his films, you will not be disappointed.
