About this movie

Witness the origin story of one of legend's most captivating figures in the action-adventure, Dracula Untold. The year is 1462 and Transylvania has enjoyed a prolonged period of peace under the just and fair rule of the battle-weary Vlad III, the prince of Wallachia (Luke Evans, Fast & Furious 6, The Hobbit series). But when Sultan Mehmed II (Dominic Cooper, Captain America: The First Avenger) demands 1,000 of Wallachia's boys -- including Vlad's own son -- become child soldiers in his army, Vlad must enter into a Faustian bargain to save his family and his people. He gains the strength of 100 men, the speed of a falling star, and the power to crush his enemies. In exchange, he's inflicted with an insatiable thirst for human blood that could force him into a life of darkness and destroy all that he holds dear. Such a wasted opportunity. It has a great cast and it build the story really well. Ottoman Empire was terribly done though. Great example of adding white actors to roles where they do not fit at all. I would have loved this far more if it was more periodically accurate with clothing instead of giving Vlad some superhero armor. Otherwise I liked it. It had hope for a movie series just like the Underworld movies, but this one had way better cast and cgi. I still hope for a sequel even though I'm fairly sure if there will be one, it will be by different studio with half the budget. People love vampires if you just take the theme more seriously. Such a wasted opportunity.

As a huge fan of vampire movies I have to admit that I loved this one the most. Knowing the truth behind the origin of Count Dracúl really helps in distinguishing the better vampire movies from the crap. My top 5 vampire flicks would have to be; 5.Blade, 4.Underworld, 3.Bram Stoker's:Dracula, 2.Dracula:Untold & my Nr1 vampire movie of all time, Interview w/a Vampire. I.m.h.o. it wouldn't be a bad idea combining the stories of Dracula:Untold with Interview w/a Vampire or Bram Stoker's with Interview w/a Vamp

Characters are all well made, especially Vlad. Great acting and Action scenes. But, the story is not perfectly made, so many poor presentation and lack of dramas. The last siege battle is really really terrible at Timing, with such incredible amount of bats, Vlad cannot finish the fight. The last night of battle passed so quickly, making it irrational and overdramatic.
